Ethereum Trading Volume Surged over 1,300% during the first half 0f the year, as institutions took large positions.
During the first half of the year Ethereum trading volume surged over 1,300%. In addition, Ethereum volume rose three times more than that of Bitcoin as institutional traders’ interest in the cryptocurrency rose.
Also, Ethereum price performance outperformed most market assets, including bitcoin, U.S S&P 500, gold, and silver.
The expectation that Ethereum will transition to a proof-of-stake mechanism will turn the coin into a yielding asset. The Proposal (EIP)-1559 upgrade scheduled for Aug. 4 will introduce a mechanism that takes x amount of ETH out of the circulation, each time a transaction is executed. This new mechanism will limit supply growth and provide Ethereum the sense that it can hold value.
